Hard-To-Package Auto Parts? DL Custom Reinforcement, Air Freight to Middle East Safe

Alice 2026-06-30 15:03:28

Sal urgently needed to ship a batch of auto parts from Shenzhen to Dubai by air freight to middle east. The shipment included engine cylinder heads, transmission valve bodies, and electronic control units (ECUs). These were high-value, precision mechanical parts. Sal tried hard and finally got our contact, DL Logistics, through a referral from a peer.

After a full discussion with Sal, here are the details:

- Engine cylinder heads: 12kg each, 8 pieces

- Transmission valve bodies: 5kg each, 15 pieces

- ECUs: 2kg each, 20 pieces

- Total volume: 1.2 CBM

I could see Sals concern. He worried that the factorys packaging might not be good enough. What if a careless courier threw the boxes around and damaged the parts? We told him right away: as one of the top five players in air freight to middle east, DL ships 50 tons of cargo every week to that region. Weve seen all kinds of goods. Our warehouse has a dedicated packing team with years of experience.

First, the engine cylinder heads. These are not just ordinary heavy metal blocks. They have precision parts like valve seats and guides on the surface. We wrapped each one with two layers of industrial-grade stretch film to keep out moisture and dust. Then we added a 3mm thick EVA foam pad around the surface to protect the valve contact areas and threaded holes.

Next, the transmission valve bodies. Inside, there are tiny valve spools and oil channels, even thinner than a pen refill. So we installed special plugs on the oil inlet and outlet to prevent any dirt from getting in during transit. After that, we wrapped the whole valve body with anti-static stretch film to avoid static discharge that could damage internal electronic parts.

The ECUs are highly sensitive electronic components. Besides the usual anti-static wrap, we put each one in an anti-static box with conductive foam padding inside. This gave both cushioning and static protection.

Then came the outer packaging. We used 15mm thick export-grade corrugated cartons double-wall, with burst strength 1800kPa and puncture resistance 35J, much stronger than standard boxes. Inside, we filled gaps with a mix of pearl cotton and foam plastic to hold the cylinder heads and valve bodies firmly in place no movement at all.

Sal watched the whole reinforcement process on site. He was very impressed with our professional work and even joked, Now I wouldnt worry even if you dropped it on the ground!
