Mr. Yue needed to send four pieces, total net weight 2.1 tons, to Dubai by air. What was it? Large injection molding machine core components. The cargo was 4.7m long, 1.6m wide, and 1.8m high. The factory was busy, and the client’s factory was waiting for installation and testing. It was a hard deadline: must arrive in 15 days, no delays allowed.

In the shipping from china to uae circle, many freight forwarders would hear about a 10-ton job and say “we can do it.” But when you ask them: what aircraft type for a 4.7m oversized piece? How to load 8–9 tons onto pallets? Does Dubai have a loading dock? They couldn’t give clear answers – they just wanted to take the cargo first. So Mr. Yue came directly to us. When I got the drawings, I saw that the bottom of the outer packaging had three raised fixing brackets, so the bottom wasn’t flat at all. It couldn’t sit flat on the pallet. If we forced it, the plane would bump during flight, the cargo could shift, or even tip over.

I called Mr. Yue and explained. He got worried: “Can I just saw off the brackets?” I said, “No, don’t saw them – they’re part of the equipment. If you remove them, the client can’t install it, that’s even worse.” We have experience with oversized cargo – we’ve handled this kind of irregular-bottom structure before. We have a secret solution: add a transition steel frame. Based on the actual bottom layout, we weld a 2.2m x 1.8m steel transition frame on-site, with three slots on top so the brackets fit right in, and a flat surface underneath. That way, it fits perfectly into the pallet’s locking grooves.

Mr. Yue was relieved and said, “I knew you guys would have a way – who else could come up with that? Just do it, no hesitation.”

That afternoon, our welding team started. We measured the three bracket positions, welded the frame with No.8 channel steel, added four horizontal reinforcing ribs for load capacity, and put shock-absorbing rubber pads at each contact point. We finished past 1 a.m.

The next morning, I submitted it to the airline for approval – it was foolproof. Ground handling issued the oversized loading confirmation, and the space was officially locked. The whole process took less than a day. If we had sent it back to the factory to modify the base, shipped it back, and waited for approval again – that would take 4 or 5 days at least.

After that, booking and loading were routine. The steel frame, transition frame, and cargo were loaded together. In Dubai, we arranged a loading dock and an 8-ton forklift. We cleared customs on the same day it arrived, and delivered to the client’s factory the next day.
